| General Overview | Theya can talk to anyone and is quick to make people at ease, or to make people uncomfortable - she controls the mood. Whether or not she chooses to socialize you on a given day depends greatly on her mood and her perception of you. She is highly observant and intelligent and is constantly making judgments. If you find yourself lucky enough to be in her favor she is one to do acts of service in appreciation, or to see a trinket or an item that you might like and get it for you. She's thoughtful, but only for those who've earned it. Until her children were born she lived her life for the Empire, and her job forced her to be different people for different situations. Once her children were born she lived for them. Now she's found herself in a place where her children are grown and she's been asked to serve again in this new world where Vulcans and Tellarites are allies. She's clearly suspicious (which is why she was chosen for the job), and trying to find her way in this new world order. |

| Personal History | Theya’s sights were set on joining the Imperial Guard at a young age - her goal to be one of the best spies her people had never known. Many still think of Andorians as paranoid, but throughout Theya’s life her people had every right to be suspicious of aliens, facts proven time and time again as races encroached on their territories, greedy for Andoria’s rich resources. The Vulcans were a formidable enemy, willing to deceive and invade. While her people placed a high value on combat, espionage was a lesser known skill of her people and one that intrigued her greatly from a young age. She was fifteen years old when she attended a training camp intended to train and sort young Andorians by skill and aptitude for early recruitment and she was sixteen when she took her first assignment on board an Imperial Guard Starship. As a cadet she served as a communications specialist on an escort vessel before taking the rank of ensign receiving an official assignment on the IGS Kuthar. Her division was monitoring Vulcan movements in Vector 4. They’s performance in signals intelligence (SIGINT) gets her noticed by Imperial Intelligence. Her first official assignment with the Imperial Intelligence Directorate was a deep undercover operative into a civilian terraforming project in 2138. While there she would develop feelings for an environmental systems specialist, Shoshua th’Kallen, but she couldn’t tell him who she was. The chemistry between them was mutual and difficult to ignore, but she kept him at arms length, knowing that she could be pulled from the assignment at any time. Also knowing that he had every reason to hate her for what she was doing, even if the information wasn’t being used against them or their project. In 2150 she was assigned to command a stealth recon unit. It was during this assignment that she was surprisingly reunited with Shoshua. She was finally able to be honest with him about her assignment on Wehtahn - the truth of which he’d somewhat been able to piece together in the aftermath. She’d much later learn that someone at the Intelligence Directorate had manifested the reassignment after they had been watching Shoshua try to find out what happened to Theya - or Tella Th’Zales, as he’d known her. Their romance was rekindled, though this time more fully, and they’d later marry during a break in the conflict during the Romulan War. Wholly in love with one another, they remained committed to the cause of the Imperial Guard, and it was not under the Romulan War had ended and the United Federation of Planets had formed that they made the decision to start their small little family. After having children, Theya and her husband settled into a safer and quieter life. They resided primarily near the capital city on Andoria where Shoshua continued his work in science/engineering on Andoria's weather and defense systems. Theya's official title was as the Director-General of the Defense Array; however, the scope of her duties went well beyond that, and she over sought data analystics and security concerns and risk assessments for Andoria's entire sector. When the children were older they had a mind to dabble in guest lecturing at the Academy during the summer sessions. The kids ended up enjoying their "summer vacations" so much, that Theya and Shoshua made an almost yearly habit of picking up a course and taking the children with them. Both Shoshua and Theya come from larger families so they would occasionally bring cousins or aunts and uncles along as well, which made the memories even more special for the children. Theya has a thick outer shell, but maintains a very soft place in her heart for her children and her husband.  In 2182 the Andorian Intelligence Directorate approached Theya about taking a position on the USS Eventide. The Official line to Starfleet is from the Imperial Council, that they wish to see Andoria represented in a senior role and that Commander (Andorian Guard) Theya zh’Líran’s experience would make her an excellent advisor to the command staff. Her husband’s experience as a scientist working with both defensive tactical shielding and environmental arrays make the duo an easy sell. With her youngest child beginning University, and the assignment being a mere two years, Theya reluctantly came out of pseudo retirement out of duty, Shoshua out of loyalty to his wife. |
